How to properly maintain your ES 2000PLUS ski edge grinder – for a long and powerful service life
Anyone who works a lot with the ES 2000PLUS from raze-cat knows: This ski edge grinding machine delivers top results – and does so consistently if properly maintained. Every grinding pass produces grinding dust that settles in and around the machine. If this dust is not regularly removed, it can accumulate in the electronics and in the worst case cause a short circuit.
To ensure your ski edge grinder ES 2000PLUS (+ previous models) always runs reliably, you should take a few minutes for regular cleaning.
🧽 How to properly clean your ES 2000PLUS
After each use, it is sufficient to thoroughly sweep the machine with a hand broom or brush. Make sure to remove all dust deposits – especially around ventilation slots and moving parts. Unplug before cleaning!
⚠️ Important: Do not use compressed air!
Even though it may be tempting to simply "blow away" the dust, this can actually push fine dust further into the machine – exactly where you don't want it.
🧲 Less dust in the device with our new magnetic strip
To make cleaning even easier, the ES 2000PLUS can now be equipped with our innovative magnetic strip.
It captures up to about 70% of the grinding dust and securely holds it before it enters the machine.
Cleaning is child's play:
-
Remove magnetic strip
-
Wipe with a dry cloth
-
Reinsert – done!
This keeps the electronics optimally protected and minimizes the risk of dust deposits inside.
🔧 Tip: Remove sidewall before grinding
An additional step to reduce dust generation is Remove the sidewalls of your ski before grinding. This reduces the amount of plastic removed during grinding, which produces less dust. For this step, we recommend the sidewall planer.
This is not strictly necessary but recommended if you want to work as cleanly and dust-free as possible.
💡 Conclusion
With the right care, you not only extend the lifespan of your ES 2000PLUS but also ensure it always delivers its full performance.
Regular wiping instead of blowing out and the clever magnetic strip make maintenance especially easy – for clean work and a consistently powerful machine.
