Frequently Asked Questions:

  • How many skis can I sharpen before I have to change the belt?

You can grind about 3-4 pairs of skis/boards with one belt. You really shouldn't use a belt for longer than that, as the grinding quality naturally decreases each time.

  • Do I have to remove the sidewall before sanding?

This is not an absolutely necessary step, but is recommended to reduce the amount of dust generated. A plus point: the sanding belts last a little longer.

  • When sanding with the machine, am I not removing too much edge?

No, don't worry. The removal rate per sanding is in the hundredths of a millimeter range, so you don't have to worry about removing too much from your edges.

  • Is it sufficient for "normal use" (sporty driving style, no racing ambitions) to grind the skis with 120 and 240 grain?

Yes, absolutely! With the combination of these two sanding belts you are in the best position.

Tip from the raze-cat team:

To securely clamp your skis before grinding the ski edges, we recommend our perfectly coordinated SC30 ski clamp - also from our own production. For the all-round carefree package of ski edge tuning, take a look at our electric ski edge grinder sets - the ideal basis for starting your DIY ski service straight away. The machine is a force to be reckoned with.

Actually, it is essential for every skier.

At first I was skeptical when I saw the sparks flying.
I have now noticed that only very little material is removed per sanding pass, but the edges are always in top condition.

The machine is manufactured to an absolutely high quality and the edge angle can be precisely adjusted and fixed.

A clear recommendation!

Super thing

I have sharpened my family's skis again, it feels better than the last standard service for 40 euros. If you ski a lot and/or are in a group, the purchase price is quickly recouped, and it is also quicker and easier to do yourself, you can't really go wrong. The sharpener makes a high-quality impression and does what it is supposed to.

Perfect for quick and professional edge grinding

Perfect for quick and professional edge grinding, but a good stand is required so that the machine can be placed at an angle and holds itself up.

Raze cat 2000 ES PLUS

The product is fantastic and works as advertised. Just one pass and it's razor sharp. Don't forget to round off the front and back. Two small points of criticism: 1. The machine is very loud and only suitable for use in a workshop. Grinding on the balcony of the chalet after the slopes have closed could annoy the neighbors. 2. The ski holders are practically mandatory. With normal ski holders you put the machine on the ski holder. I didn't realize that when I bought the machine.
